Kings Head Chard before 1975. One of eight pubs left in Chard where 25 existed at the beginning of the 20th century. The pub has undergone a number of changes (compare the 1975 photo with the 2004 photo) as can be seen by 2004 a ground floor window had been reinstated. Various photos since 2004 have been looked at - one shows a large sign on the two walls "The King's Head" with the gallows sign removed and positioned on the wall overlooking the car park. Another (Facebook) shows a much smaller "King's Head" to the left hand wall, nothing on the right hand wall and (presumably) the gallows sign still overlooking the car park.
